I. Course Overview
Number : Social Science 1
Title : General Psychology with Drug Abuse and Prevention
Description : The subject deals with the study of psychology as a behavior science, its development, methodologies, and its relation to other social sciences. Aims to explore and understand the different aspects of human behavior as follows: sensation and perception, principles, motives, emotions, personality, intelligence, and personal adjustments.

Credit : Three (3) units
Duration : Fifty-four (54) hours, three (3) hours/week
Prerequisite : None

II. Objectives

National : To train the nation’s manpower in the skills required for national development for the improvement of the quality of human life.
College : To provide basic and advance social sciences subjects believe to develop and enhance learner’s to adapt to the fast pace society and expand critical thinking on political issues.

Course Objectives : Through different topics included in this course, students are expected to:

1. Know what is pertinent about their lives and to allow them to be able to participate more effectively in discussions about the fascinating topic of human behavior;
2. Recognize and appreciate fundamental concepts which underline human behavior;
3. Sense and perceive individual differences, personality, emotions;
4. Give comprehensive knowledge of the nature and scope of psychology that will enable them to have background of the subject and its application to industry.

Chapter 3. Physiological Basis of Behavior
